The third Jamgon Kongtrul, Buddhist monk and teacher, was one of the heads of the Kagyü order of Tibetan Buddhism. He traveled extensively in Asia, Europe, and North America, touching the hearts and minds of large numbers of students. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche was the founder of the Paramita Charitable Trust in India and the Rigpe Dorje Foundation, an international network of of organizations concerned with furthering education, medical, and social development in India and Nepal. Born in Eastern Tibet in 1954, he was killed in a car accident in India in April 1992.
